This is a rich opulent oaked style. Intense hazelnut, nougat, caramel and butter on the nose. Generous silky textured mouth feel is nuanced with a touch of citrus acidity and layered with an interesting minerality. Perfectly balanced, with considerable length. This rich, ripe style is versatile - and will partner full flavoured dishes, such as chicken in creamy mushroom and vino blanco sauce. Marchesi di Gresy (or Tenute Cisa Asinari dei Marchesi di Gresy to give them their full name) have long been recognised as one of Piemonte's top producers. The winery has been in the family of owner Alberto di Gresy for centuries. The company owns 35 hectares of vineyards on 4 different estates, most notably the famous Martinenga vineyard where 11 hectares are dedicated to growing Nebbiolo grapes for the production of their flagship Barbaresco - Martinenga Camp Gros and Martinenga Gaiun.
